SO YOU WANT TO WRITE A BOOK
Well, you're not the only one.
Every November, a couple hundred thousand other people around the world set out to type, scribble, or otherwise inscribe fifty thousand words of original fiction. That's right—er, write?—they each try to write a 50,000 word book in one month. And each year, thousands of them succeed.
What's the secret? First comes a love of books and writing, a lot of coffee, and sheer determination from the participants. And the rest is the month-long event that brings it all together with a community made for encouragement, inspiration, and a whole load of fun. Writing a book in one month all alone is possible (I've done it), but when you get together five or six or thirty like-minded people just crazy enough to try it, you stand a much
better chance of succeeding. The Squibs would like to present themselves as the local Nano chapter at ready to write their books along with you. There are no fees, no obligations to submit your book to anything, just a group of writers who have decided to finish the draft in a month-long extravaganza of storytelling.
Want to be part of it? Sign up with the group at the Algonac-Clay Library, like us on Facebook for updates and to connect with other members, and visit http://www.nanowrimo.org/en/ to join thousands of others on a mission to write books.
